Today’s video is how we have been preparing for my postpartum stage. We have done as much work ahead of time as possible to hopefully make things easier once baby is here and help get my healing off to a good start! You can watch the video for all the details and see below for some additional information.

For the padsicles, I bought a pack of Seventh Generation Overnight pads since they have wings and are a bit thicker. I used about a tablespoon of aloe, a tablespoon of witchhazel and 3-4 drops of lavender oil on each pad. You can change up the oils you use or leave them out. Wrap them back up, place them in a freezer bag, pop them in the freezer, and that’s it!

Be sure to watch the video for a lot more information and to see what I have in four different kits for the baby and me!

Nursery Closet Tour & Organization

13575471_10102741738286702_1819566468_o

Today’s video is a tour of our baby boy’s nursery! We started on it and pretty much completed it months ago. We made a few changes to the shelving system and purchased bins from the Dollar Tree. We were lucky enough that they had the exact color we needed to match some of the nursery decor so I bought pretty much all that I could! I’m sure we’ll make a few changes once baby get here, but for now I think it will work well for us.

Nursery Tour – Map Theme

Today’s video is a tour of our baby boy’s nursery! We started working on it months ago and it just needed a few finishing touches before I shared it with everyone. I love the way it turned out, it’s definitely my favorite room in the house.

I knew from the beginning that I wanted a map theme in the nursery. I’m not one to be too matchy matchy so I have a mix of items. We stayed with mostly neutrals with pops of teal green. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Watch the video for all the details!

39 Weeks Pregnant!

Baby’s size: Around 20 inches & just over 7 lbs.

Mama’s weigh: My weight has stayed pretty much the same over the past weeks weeks. I try not to weigh unless I’m at an appointment, but I’d say I’m still right around the 36 or 37 pound total gain.

Symptoms: Same as they have been. Belly is getting super heavy! I can tell baby has put on weight. It’s making it hard to get comfortable, especially in bed. I’ve also been feeling much more emotional as this pregnancy comes to an end. I’m so thankful that I’ve been blessed to experience this miracle.

Bump: 13662588_10102763954295642_977426991_o

Cravings: I had a huge craving for canned Ravioli last week so I had that for supper one night. Other than that, nothing too specific.

Appointments: Wednesday I go to the chiropractor and Thursday I go back to the birth center for a checkup – my last one?? We’ll see!

Looking forward to: Going into labor and meeting my son! I’m SO ready!

Labor Prep: Evening Primrose Oil, Raspberry Leaf Tea, & Medjool Dates.

38 Weeks Pregnant!

Baby’s size: Around 19.75 inches & 6.8 lbs.

Symptoms: Typical symptoms – heartburn, frequent urination, heavy stomach, ligament pain, swelling, the usual- nothing major 🙂

Bump: 13633350_10102752121403852_994466395_o

Cravings: Chips. I’ve ate so many chips lately – mainly BBQ!

Appointments: Weekly midwife & chiropractor appointments. We have a Newborn Care class coming up Sunday. We were thinking baby may come before then, but it’s not looking that way!

Looking forward to: Meeting this baby!! Whenever you’re ready little one!

Labor Prep: Evening Primrose Oil, Raspberry Leaf Tea, & Medjool Dates.

Postpartum Prep – Freezer Meals

13535847_10102737493363562_60223837_n

Today’s video shows Miguel spending the day preparing freezer meals for our postpartum period. We decided to do this months ago to cut back on the time spent cooking when baby gets here and to make sure we’re not relying too much on eating out. Last Saturday we finally got it all together and knocked it out – Miguel cooked ALL day long!

Here’s a list of what we ended up with – each box is a meal or side for two:

I hope this gives you some ideas and inspires you to prepare some meals for your postpartum time as well!

37 Weeks Pregnant!

13518054_10102737250774712_1700935691_o

Baby’s size: Around 19.25 inches & 6.3 lbs.

Symptoms: Emotional, heartburn and reflux – I sleep with a peppermint in my mouth most of the time to keep the heartburn away, HOT, big appetite (although I’ve lost a couple of pounds this past week), hand and feet swelling. I’ve had a pretty good amount of energy lately, but tire fast when I’m active. Big movements in there!

Bump: 13569870_10102737120146492_1141313327_o

Cravings: Sweets, milkshakes, anything with sugar really. I’ve tried to rid the house of it so I don’t over-indulge!

Appointments: I’ve been bumped up to weekly midwife appointments now! Crazy! (More about midwife appointment in update video below). I’m still seeing the chiropractor weekly as well. We had two classes this past Sunday – Birth Center Practices then Labor & Comfort Measures.

Looking forward to: Getting my labor & postpartum prep wrapped up so I can relax and wait for baby!

Labor Prep: Evening Primrose Oil, Raspberry Leaf Tea, & Medjool Dates.
